Plano-convex circular cylindrical lenses consist of a flat surface on one side and a cylindrical surface on the other side, featuring a positive focal length. Unlike spherical lenses, cylindrical lenses only act on beams in one direction. Cylindrical lenses are commonly used for beam shaping. Typical applications include collimating bicylindrical lenses and circularizing laser diode output beams. To reduce spherical aberration, the beam should be incident to the lens’s curved surface when a plano-convex circular cylindrical lens is used to focus a collimating beam into a line. On the other side, the beam should be incident to the lens’s flat surface when the line light source is collimated. OMTOOLS offers uncoated plano-convex circular cylindrical lenses and three kinds of AR coating lenses (400 nm-700 nm, 700 nm-1,100 nm, and 1,100 nm-1,650 nm) to meet various commercial and scientific applications.
