The OMXF12B coaxial mechanical slits developed by OMTOOLS provide precision adjustment of slit width for 30 mm cage systems with micrometers. The slit is composed of two A2 steel blades. The slit is located at the center of the through-hole with SM05 threads, and its width can be adjusted with the built-in micrometer. The unique design provides one-to-one correlation between the adjustment of the precision micrometer and the subsequent change in silt width. The actual silt width ranges from zero (fully closed) to 6.0 mm, with 0.5 mm of adjustment for each turn of rotation of the micrometer. In the fully closed position, the two blades are touching. However, imperfections in the blades and the degree to which the blades are parallel can cause gaps as large as 25 µm in width. The slit opening remains centered on the SM05 threaded hole as the slit width is varied. The silt is mounted in a housing, which is designed with four φ6 through holes, and M3 set screws are equipped on the side of φ6 through holes to fix the Ø6 mm coaxial cage rods. It is compatible with the 30 mm cage systems. It is designed with M4 threaded holes at the bottom for connection with optical posts.
